Impromptu November Session

The weather was so good on Saturday that we arranged an impromptu gardening session which was really well attended.

We finished laying gravel on the woodland path and cleared huge amounts of leaves from all the walkways and meadow.

Our next session will be on the morning of the Queen’s Park Winter Fair. Do come along if you can.

Bulb Planting in the Park

Thank you to everyone that joined in with the massive bulb planting session in the park at the weekend.  It is going to look magnificent in the spring time.

Thank you to Rotary in London, Ulla & the HCGA team and Queen’s Park Community Council (from whom we ‘stole’ the photos)  for facilitating and organising this wonderful event.

We are WINNERS!

We are so very proud to announce that the London in Bloom incentive has awarded us with a Silver Gilt in The London in Bloom Small Conservation Area of the Year – up to 5 acres category.

The Annual Awards is where London in Bloom celebrates the efforts of London’s boroughs, communities, businesses and individuals who do so much to make London a special place to live, work and visit.

We hope our certificate will soon be on display at the Beethoven Centre and we would like to thank everyone who has made a  contribution to our efforts in the Wildlife Area, from the QPCC to Quinn’s contractors, the various people who have supplied wood chip and tree rounds, seeds and tools, but most of all we would like to thank the local residents who turn out in all weathers to maintain the area as a place for everyone to enjoy.

End of Summer

We were busy again last weekend. Tasks included planting primroses and spreading gravel around the woodland walk. We had a good turn out and the weather stayed dry until we finished at 1pm.

Earlier in the week we planted some bluebell and wild garlic bulbs.

Please sign up for our mailing list alerts to find out when the next session will happen.

HCGA are continuing to run sessions on Thursdays in the rose garden between 10am and midday – for those who remember it before, you should take a look to see the great work that has already been done there! Still plenty more to do though. Please contact Ulla (ulla@nullhcga.org.uk) if you are interested and she will confirm the sessions are going ahead.

Festival 2016: Another Great Year

Once again, this year’s Summer Festival was blessed with fine weather and a lot of fun for everyone. We met so many wonderful families and residents.

Did you visit us? Did you complete our quiz to win a chocolate bug or did you vote for what you’d like to see in the empty space?
Did you take a stroll through our new Woodland Walk? Did you visit Ulla, our Community Gardener in the Rose Garden?
Or did you just take a look around and relax away from the crowds for a while?
Whatever you did in the Wildlife Area, we hope you enjoyed yourself.

If you would like to look at, and comment on our Development Plan, you’ll find it here. You can also have your say about one corner of the Wildlife Area that we’re not sure about.
