Walking for Health

HCGA will be running a series of walks throughout 2021 and 2022 in association with WAES, RBK&C and Westminster Libraries. The next few start at 10am and are on Tuesdays through November and December.

Booking is essential for all walks. Walk finish times will vary depending on location and walk, please ask for details when booking.  Walk lengths vary from 3-6 miles and will be slow/moderately paced, with opportunities for wildlife watching and sight-seeing.

Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions, wear appropriate footwear for walking and bring a packed lunch and water. Some locations may have a café and other facilities.

Community clean-up

Celebrating and protecting our local environment.

Following on from the QPCC’s successful event in June, which saw 20 bags of litter taken off of the streets of Queen’s Park, they will be hosting another Queen’s Park Community Clean-Up to tie in with the Great Green Week this Saturday the 25th of September.

♻️ Westminster Recycling Champions and Veolia will be providing equipment and hosting a stall to give information on recycling in the ward to residents on the day.

♻️ A QPCC stand where will be engaging with residents to hear their views on our work as a council and their priorities for the area.

♻️ There will be a number of volunteer ‘Litter Champions’ who will lead small groups to different areas of the ward. If you would like to be involved in the event by volunteering to lead or support a group or otherwise, please email Millie.

♻️ The Community Clean Up will be followed by a community lunch held in the Beethoven Centre to thank all litter champions and QPCC volunteers!

Queen’s Park Gardens Dog Show

This year’s Summer Festival will include everyone’s favourites with two stages, kids’ entertainment, delicious food show, family sports and games in the park,  the over 50’s party and it all kicks off with the Dog Show between 11 & 12 (just before the main festival begins).

Neighbourhood Clean Up

Join us in celebrating World Environment Day and the Great British Spring Clean in Queen’s Park with a community clean up! ♻️

10am to 12pm on Saturday, 5th June 2021.

Starting at Queen’s Park Gardens, join one of our litter champions as they lead group litter picks across the neighbourhood as part of the Great British Spring Clean.

Mental Health Awareness Week: Local Explorer Trail


If you’re prepared to dodge the showers, now is a great time to join the self-guided Queen’s Park Explorer Trail.

It is a fascinating way to explore your neighbourhood – from First Avenue’s All Star Boxing Gym to the Paradise on Kilburn Lane,  you can discover the local history on this explorer trail.

Easter Activities

The QPCC has enlisted Lizzy’s Help to organise some activities over Easter. These will all be respectful of the prevailing safety restrictions.

Seven days of fun from Saturday, 3rd April.  The Bunny Truck will be touring out local streets, egging people on to donate to the Food Bank. Keep a look out for them in your street!

Queen’s Park: Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

Harrow Road: Tuesday, Wednesday,

Westbourne: Thursday, Friday.

End of Summer Plant Sale!

Following the sell-out success of Ulla’s event in July QPCC & HCGA are delighted to announce their End-of-summer Queen’s Park Plant Sale (more details below image).

As part of the Play Streets Initiative, they will be holding a pop-up sale on Kilravock Street (Fifth Ave end) on Thursday 27 August from 3.30pm to 5pm. 

Here’s a sneak preview of some plants that will be available:

Herbs: lavender, rosemary, basil (purple, lemon), sage, lemon balm, fennel, lemon verbena

Fruit & Veg: beetroot, swiss chard, spinach, raspberry bush

Ornamental plants: sunflowers, cyclamen, day lilies, geraniums/pelargoniums, dianthus, range of indoor/house plants

Free gardening advice will be available.

We will be accepting cash – exact money only-and offering a card payment facility.

Please come along, bring your gardening queries and your reusable bags and pick up some plant bargains.
