Paid Internship Gardening Opportunity

The Energy Garden programme have a project to transform 50 London Overground stations into community-led gardens.  Each garden will be unique to the people and to the area, with the stations transformed into beautiful, green and ecologically rich spaces. Large-scale off-site solar arrays will also be established where surplus energy can be sold to generate a steady revenue stream to support the long term maintenance of the gardens and provide a return to investors. The Energy Garden project is being delivered by Repowering London and Groundwork London in partnership with Transport for London and funded by Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
As part of this project we are offering an exciting opportunity for young and unemployed people (16-24year olds) to join a paid internship programme where interns will learn new and practical skills in renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, green gardening and community development.  The internship will comprise ten 5-hour sessions including classroom-based learning, site visits, events and practical lessons.  There will also be an opportunity for some interns to secure relevant paid work as part of a six-month employment scheme.

Please pass this information to anyone who might be able to make use of this wonderful opportunity.
