Gardening Club

SADLY, THE GARDENING CLUB NO LONGER OPERATES.

Open Age is a charity which promotes mental and physical well-being for the residents aged over 50 years within the Tri- Boroughs. Our local hub is Queen’s Park and Harrow Road.

Membership is free and opportunity is varied.  One of their activities is a Gardening Club, very close to our park, in Droop Street (and Fourth Avenue, behind the library).

Juniper House is a sheltered housing community, run by CityWest Homes who, along with A2Dominion, help and support the charity, welcoming them into their various premises.

Juniper House has a conservatory for propagating seeds and outside there are three raised beds for growing and learning about herbs, vegetables and salads. Regular gardeners are rewarded with the most delicious home-grown produce during the seasons.  This is an activity for all abilities. The raised beds provide easy access and each session usually starts with a chat around the table indoors.

If you, or anyone you know, is over 50 and would like to be a part of this fun activity, please get in touch with Saira via the contacts on this flyer. You will need to be a member of Open Age but that can be arranged for free, via Claire at the Beethoven Centre: 020 7266 2776. More details here.
