June in the Wildlife Area

blog dfThe combination of wet weather and humid heat has given the Wildlife Area all the help it needs to flourish.

The meadow is full of ox eye daisies and buttercups but if you look more closely you’ll also find a few poppies, cornflowers, corn marigolds, teasels, oil seed rape to name but a few (to name the ones we can remember!).

We were thrilled when a new visitor pointed out that at least one pair of Common Blue Damsel flies were hovering around the long grasses.

There were many families visiting the area while we were gardening this weekend. When we see others enjoying the place, it makes us happy to spend time there.

If you’d like to join in the fun of our random gardening sessions, check this page or better still, ask to join our mailing list.
